5 Adsense Tips to improve your earnings

Author: Stephen Ashton
Category: Internet marketing/online business

5 Adsense Tips to improve your earnings
Adsense has long been one of the best ways to monetize your
website but it's amazing how many people are leaving so
much potential earnings on the table simply by not thinking
about how and where they place their Google ads. In this
article I go through some simple changes that you can make
to your ads that will have a huge impact on the commissions
you'll receive from Google.

Use the full allowance of ads available to you on each page

Google allows you to place 3 different regular ad units and
1 link ad unit on each and every page of your website and
it is important to use this allowance to maximize your
chances of clicks. Place them in area's of the page that
your visitors will be looking. For example, if your page
has an article, place them to float within the text of the
article. Either at the top of after a couple of paragraphs.
Another great place to place ads is at the bottom of an
article as your visitors are looking for a place to go once
they've finished reading the article. Why not then present
them with some options in the form of some adsense ads. The
key is to blend them into the page so they don't detract
from the content. Another thing to add here is don't use
the horizontal banner ad format. Your site visitors are
blind to them and simply won't click on them. This removes
one of the 4 allowed ads on your page.

Optimize each page for adsense

By using these popular keywords, you're opening the door
for Google to place higher paying ads on your website. The
more popular the keyword or phrase, the higher AdWords
advertisers are generally willing to pay per click. This
results in much higher rates of commission for you on each
of those clicks.

Use Google's Custom Channels for each of the ad units on
your site

Google has provided web site publishers with some great
tools to help you analyze and tweak your adsense ads. Give
each unit a unique name and then analyze the results and
keep tweaking them until you get the desired results from
them. If they are not working were they are placed, move
them. Try changing the colors and integrating them
differently into the text and keep detailed notes on the
changes you are making and see which one's make the biggest
change to your CTR (Click Through Rate).

Blend you Adsense ads into your web pages

This next tip is one of the simplest changes I made but had
a huge effect on my earnings. Make links the same color as
your existing text links. Don't try and make the ads stand
out on the page by using bright colors as all this achieves
is making a big warning sign that these are ads and the
majority of people will then not click on the links. By
making the links the same color as your links, it looks
like they are an extension of your page. If you use the tip
above and optimize each page for specific keywords then the
ads served on the page will be related to the information
on the page and you'll see your CTR shoot up.

Learn from the best

And finally, a tip that I advise for all aspects of website
marketing, not just for adsense purposes is, learn from the
masters. There are plenty of people making thousands of
dollars in adsence earnings every month and have gone
through all the trial and error iterations that need to be
done to find the most successful way to maximize your
adsense earnings. My advice, invest in their courses. They
pay for themselves in a very short period of time.

3 Tops Reasons Why You Must Have Your Own Affiliate Marketing Website

Author: Mal Keenan

3 Tops Reasons Why You Must Have Your Own Affiliate Marketing Website
Budding entrepreneurs entering the affiliate marketing
business invariably struggle with many questions on the
setup, methods and strategies of their new business.

In dealing with prospects on a daily basis the same
question arises time and time again:

Should I get your own website? Do I need one? Will it make
a difference to my affiliate sales?

If you have ever joined any affiliate programs at all then
you will know that every affiliate program provides you
with your own version of the merchants sales page - coded
with your affiliate link, in order to track sales.

Technically it is possible to make money promoting this
turnkey site that the merchant has provided. In my
professional opinion and from my own experience though,
this is NOT the way to go if you are serious about making
your affiliate business a full-time enterprise.

Let me explain why - giving the most important points
against using the affiliate website:

1. By far the most important factor is that the affiliate
program can go out of business at anytime leaving any
promotions that you have done for your affiliate site
useless. If you have links on the www pointing to an
affiliate page and the company is no longer in existence
then those links will fail to work.

If you have your own website then YOU are in control. You
can simply point the link on your end to a new company and
thus give you a chance of building a new income stream.

2. It is undoubtedly of massive importance that you build
your reputation online. If you only promote another persons
website, even though it will bring you commissions, it will
usually have the name of the product owner on this site.
So, in this case, you are building the merchants'
reputation and web presence instead of your own. Branding
your name and business online will lead to further success
so it's better to get YOUR name out there right from the
very start.

3. Point 3 is, that with an affiliate page you don't have
the ability to make changes to your webpage. Again, this is
a business, so you MUST add your own uniqueness and some
personality to the aspect of this business that you are
presenting to the public. You CANNOT do this with the
affiliate site that the merchant provides - ONLY with your
own website and domain name.

So by now you may be asking for the solution. The only
answer is to get a website and build YOUR own web presence
and brand rather than someone elses. This way you can
promote any affiliate programs you like from your new site
AND you can change the links, content etc. as often as you
require.

This is how I personally do it. If you visit my own sites
you will see that I have added loads of my own content BUT
each of the links from within that site point to affiliate
product from which I will get a commission for evey sale
that is made.

Do you see how this works? Do you see how it is a much
better strategy than promoting an affiliate page that will
NEVER belong to me?

Now, at this stage you may be terrified as to how you where
you would even start to acquire your own business domain
name and website.

The process is actually quite simple, once you actually
begin to push through the fear and take action.

If you don't see the importance of having your own website
now then believe me, it WILL become clear as you get a
better understanding of online business.

For a few dollars per year for a domain name and hosting
you are much better to have an affiliate website than be
without one.

How To Profit From Google Adwords

Author: Pawel Reszka

How To Profit From Google Adwords
Making money with Google Adwords has become very popular.
It's the new trend that took the Internet by storm.
Affiliate marketers are constantly researching new niches,
keywords and competition to monetize the traffic from
Adwords. Profiting from the "Google Gash" game was much
easier just a few years ago. Cost per click keeps going up
each and every month. Below I have listed some Adwords
strategies that can help affiliate marketers maximize their
earnings.

1. Bidding On The Exact Name Of The Product

This method is very effective and can bring substantial
profits very quickly. Basically, affiliates can bid on the
exact name of the product and profit from other affiliates
advertising efforts. When a product is popular there are a
lot of people searching for it on Google to find out more
information, read reviews, or even bonuses offered by
affiliates. If you choose to try this method, you should
research other affiliates to see what exactly they are
doing and what bonuses they are offering. Next construct a
review page of the product and offer a better bonus
package. Using this method you are going to pay more per
click, because the traffic is highly targeted.

2. Creating Site-Targeted Campaign

With this method you can target the exact pages where you
want your ads to appear. Of course the publisher must
display Adsense ads on their site. First of all, you need
to find websites relevant to the product or service you are
selling. Do a search on Google for the keyword phrases that
would potentially bring in sales. Next make a list of all
the web pages that display Adsense on the first and second
page of the search results. This ensures that the website
you are going to display ads receives high quality traffic.
Next create a "site targeted" campaign targeting the pages
you just researched. With this method you could end up
paying less than 0.05 per click if your CTR is performing
very well.

3. Using Huge Keyword Lists

Using this strategy you must create a big list of relevant
keywords for your product or service. The key to making
this method work is to find many low searched keywords with
little or no competition. Utilizing the method you could
get away with paying cents per click instead of dollars.
You should get yourself a keyword research tool that will
help you find relevant keyword phrases. I highly recommend
Keyword Elite software for this project.

4. Monetizing On Big Product Launches

This is probably the easiest way to make money using Google
Adwords. Basically, you will need to watch for next big
product launches by some of the big marketers. Some of the
product launches generate a ton of searches on Google on
the day of the launch. Once you spot one, you should bid
only on the name of the product on that exact date. You
could also give away some bonuses to increase your sales.
This method can bring quick and easy profits due to the
fact that there is almost no competition on the date of the
launch.

The above strategies are just some of the most popular ways
to easily monetize on the traffic from Google Adwords. You
should always monitor your CTR (click through ratio), Cost
Per Click, and conversions.

10 Steps To Top 10 Rankings In Google

Author: Titus Hoskin
Category: Internet marketing/online business

10 Steps To Top 10 Rankings In Google
Most webmasters go totally "gaga" for top 10 rankings in
Google. And for good reason, Google is the most dominant
search engine on the net and will deliver the largest
amount of traffic.

More importantly, those same webmasters will also inform
you, getting top 10 rankings in Google often means your
site will prove profitable. Mainly because obtaining
targeted traffic is usually your first obstacle in creating
a viable online business. In other words, if you get top
ten listings in Google for good searchable keywords, it is
almost impossible not to earn money.

How To Proceed?

First, you must know the rudimentary basics of how keywords
work. Keywords and keyword phrases are the exact words
someone types into a search engine to find what they're
looking for online. If you have a site on "dog training"
then your goal is to get a top 10 ranking for the keywords
"dog training".

Now if no one searches for "dog training" it would be a
useless keyword, you would get no traffic no matter how
perfectly your site is optimized for that keyword.

How Do You Know If A Keyword Is Good?

To find out, you have to do some keyword research on your
particular keywords. Many professional online marketers use
keyword research software like Brad Callen's Keyword Elite.
However, you can also use the keyword suggestion tools
supplied by Google Adwords or Overture.

Now if you check "dog training", you will find it receives
around 4,469 searches each day. That's a lot of traffic but
you must realize that it may be too good, or rather too
competitive for your purposes, especially if have a new
site.

Biggest Mistake When Choosing Keywords.

The most common mistake most novice webmasters make is
targeting keywords which are too competitive. You simply
will not be able to compete or place for extremely
competitive keywords. Well established sites and businesses
with very deep pockets have the resources to completely
dominate those keywords.

While it is not entirely futile nor a waste of time to
concentrate your efforts on highly competitive keywords,
you will have better success if you target low to medium
competitive keywords.

Long Tail Keyword Marketing

Besides online marketers have discovered that longer
keyword phrases are usually the most lucrative. These
phrases deliver traffic which is better targeted and more
likely to convert into a sale. "Dog hunting training" which
gets around 100 searches a day will be more targeted than
the general term "dog training" and if you have a site
devoted to training hunting dogs then this keyword phrase
may convert better for you.

Always keep this "Long Tail" keyword strategy in the back
of your mind as you implement the following steps to
achieve your own Top 10 Rankings in Google.

1. Make A Master Keyword List

Your first step is to make a master list of the keywords
you wish to target. Obviously these should be closely
related to the theme of your site. Check the keyword
competition by seeing how many sites are listed in Google
for that keyword. Webmasters also check the Google PageRank
of the sites that hold the top 10 positions. If all those
sites are PR6 and above it may be hard to get ranked high
for your keywords.

2. Choose Related Keywords

Once you have your master list of keywords, find long tail
related keywords to target. Again, check out the
competition and daily searches made for each chosen keyword.

3. Use Quality Content For Your Keywords

Creating quality content should always be your main goal.
Write for actual visitors who will see and read your
content. First and foremost you must have good useful
content that your visitors will use themselves and
recommend to their friends or colleagues. Tie this quality
content in with your chosen keywords. Use one keyword
phrase per page.

4. Keyword In Domain Name, Title and URLs

Having your keyword in your domain name will score big
points from search engines. Plus, each page of content
should contain your keywords in the title & meta tags for
that page. Most experts also suggest you have your keyword
in the URL and use hyphens to separate your keywords.
Although the author has gotten good results by using an
underscore and htm in URLs.

Example: www.yoursite.com/your_keyword.htm

5. Do On Page Optimization

Keyword ratio is a much discussed topic by SEO experts and
many suggest you should have your keyword in the H1 or
headline title of your page. Sprinkle your keyword and
variations of it throughout your page. Don't over do it but
make sure the robot/spiders will clearly discover what your
page is about. Many webmasters make sure they include their
main keyword in the first and last 25 words on their pages.

6. Use Traffic Modules

One technique that works extremely well in Google is
clustering a closely related topic or subject into a
distinct separate section on your site. For example, if you
have a marketing site, you could create a whole section on
article marketing where you would have 50 to 100 keyworded
pages all relating to your subject. Writing articles,
formatting articles, submitting articles, article
software... place a keyword linked menu on each page to
connect all your pages together.

Keep in mind, your main objective is to supply quality
information to your visitors. One reason Google may favor
this type of structure is because they want quality content
returned in their SERPs.

7. Try Article Marketing

Article marketing is writing short informative articles on
keyword topics related to your sites. You then submit these
helpful keyworded articles to ezine directories on the web,
when your articles are picked up by related sites you
receive quality One-Way links. The higher the quality of
your article, the more links you will receive.

Another ranking tactic to use, if you're just starting out
your site will probably have a low PR rank and you will
find it hard to rank for even modest keywords. That's why
it's useful to take advantage of the higher PageRank of the
major ezine directories. Your keyworded articles on these
high PR sites will get picked up by Google and displayed in
the top 10 rankings. Now the displayed URL will be the
article directory site but the links in the resource box
will be pointing back to your site. Over time this article
marketing technique will raise your own site's rankings for
those keywords. Simple but effective.

8. Anchor Text And One Way Links

Off page optimization is important in obtaining high
rankings in Google. Getting quality One-Way links is very
important. Anchor Text simply refers to "the underlined
clicked on words" in your links. Most webmasters include
their keywords in their anchor text as this tells the
search engines exactly what the links are about.

9. Tags, Blogging And Web 2.0

Take advantage of Web 2.0 by using blogs, RSS feeds and the
social bookmarking sites like Reddit and Digg. Try
AddThis.com for a simple social bookmarking system. At the
very least your site should have a blog and RSS feed
attached to it as this is an effective way of boosting your
keyword rankings.

Tags have become very important for getting higher
rankings. Keep in mind, in free blogging software such as
WordPress, categories will automatically be seen as tags.
Blogger, which is owned by Google, now has a form where you
put your keywords (tags) for each post you make.

10. PPC vs Organic Search

Of course, one of the fastest ways to get your links
displayed on Google is to pay for them by using Google
Adwords. Your ad and links will sit side by side with the
organic link results. In Pay Per Click advertising you bid
or pay so much per click for your keywords and you only pay
when someone clicks your links. But smart marketers also
know since you're getting millions of impressions
advertising your products, acquiring name recognition and
branding through PPC advertising can be a major
side-benefit.

However, most webmasters would say that organic links
(SERPS) will return better traffic than paid links or
advertising. In most cases, this may be true because
Google's organic rankings are becoming more respected and
more trusted by users. They simply carry more weight with
surfers.

This makes it even more beneficial to obtain top 10
rankings for your keywords in Google. Depending on the
competitiveness of your chosen keywords reaching the first
page listing or even the favored number one spot is well
within any webmaster's reach. Just go for it. The rewards
are well worth your efforts.

The key to zero cost web site promotion

The key to zero cost web site promotion
Author: Paul Easton
Category: Internet marketing/online business

Free Link Building basics: The key to zero cost web site promotion
Having an effective link building strategy creates new
paths of traffic to your site. The major search engines
take this into account, when listing your site.

At the same time many web site owners lack the
understanding of what they are trying to achieve. This is
especially when it comes to results.

Link building is all about the long-term goal of action
producing traffic. Unlike Google Adwords, which is instant
and you pay for that instant result, link building is about
the small trickle of visitors every day from many hundreds
of sites.

Let's run the numbers:

100 different sites sending you 2 visitors per day – 200
unique visitors a day 10% of them joining your list- 20
email opt-in visitors per day

At the end of the month – 600 on your list- not a bad
start, for some "sweat equity" also known as work.

Next month you are listed in another 100 sites – end of the
month another subscribers per month- total list 1200

Hit month three- same as the last two- so now a list of
1800 which is around about when Google updates its ranking
algorithm, and you start to get natural search engine
traffic- So you are starting to gain momentum.

Then you look closer into your web hosting statistics and
find the majority of your visitors are come from posts you
did in specific forums – Now you can focus your area of
work to where you are getting results from.

Also you try a new more up front design for your email
opt-in, and add a free gift. Now you have found a way to
convert more traffic to take an action. If you need to
know where your traffic is coming from, in the easiest way,
with a free tool check out the invisible counter from
statcounter.com

Some small business owners become frustrated when they
don't see results, and then comes doubt if its working and
then they go off to try another method of promotion. As
long as you understand the process and the way the system
works, its being a long race and not a sprint for traffic
then you will have the results you expect.

Once you know where the traffic is coming from, you can
focus on two things, increasing the traffic from these
sites with more active posts and increasing the conversion
to action at your site. These are the key metrics for
knowing what is going on in your business.

6 Secrets to Online Business Building Success

6 Secrets to Online Business Building Success

Author: Donna Gunter
Category: Internet marketing/online business

6 Secrets to Online Business Building Success
The Internet marketing industry and online business
industry is fraught with fraud. There are more "get rich
quick" schemes here than in almost any other industry.
After all, who doesn't want to sit on home on his rear end
and make tons of money by working only a couple of hours
per week? The allure of such a promise is quite appealing.
However, remember the adage about promises that sound too
good to be true--typically such promises will lead you to
great disappointment.

Building a business online is neither easy or quick. It's
just like any other business. It takes time and dedication
to generate the kind of results you desire. Here are 6
"school of hard knocks" lessons that I believe are the
"real" secrets to successfully building an online business:

Lesson 1: Acknowledge your expertise. One of the great
difficulties of online business owners is their inability
to acknowledge their expertise in an area. I, too, suffered
from that problem in the early years, thinking, "I'm not
really an expert -- everyone knows this stuff, don't they?"
It took me years to realize that while others did have a
higher level of expertise than me, there was a very large
group of people who knew less than me -- and it was to
those people I could become an expert! And, better yet,
they would pay me to learn it so they didn't have to do
through the same trial-and-error method I did. In 2006, I
decided to officially declare my expertise by crowning
myself as "The Online Business Resource Queen" because I
know more about running an online business than just about
anybody I know. So, go ahead and crown yourself as an
expert!

Lesson 2: Niche your way to riches. Finding the exact
market that needs what you have to offer is one of the
primary keys to success in any business, but especially
when you're trying to do business online. Taking a shotgun
approach and foolishly believing that "everyone" needs your
product or service is the quickest way to failure. You
need to be able to identify and describe your niche market,
from determining what problem the niche market is actively
trying to solve and what they'll pay for (as well as how
much they will pay) to what publications they read, to what
groups/associations do they belong, and where they hang out
both on- and off-line. The more narrowly focused your
niche, the better. So, owners of Golden Retrievers are a
better defined niche than dog lovers, and executive female
golfers are better than women athletes.

Lesson 3: Build relationships online. Even though an
online business is virtual and you meet few of your clients
and prospective clients face-to-face, it is still possible
to build trusting relationships online. The most important
thing to remember is that your personality needs to shine
throughout all of your online ventures. So whether you
share personal stories about your life or business (these
will be very popular with your visitors), or write articles
or website text in the same way you speak, you need to give
visitors an experience of what it means to do business with
you. You can also use audio and video on your website as
well as photos of you in action in your business. Remember,
most people need to get to know, like and respect you
before they'll decide to buy what you have to offer.

Lesson 4: Create several "stay in touch" devices. An
ezine (email newsletter), blog (web log), and
autoresponders (series of automated follow up emails) are
the quickest and easiest ways to stay in touch with your
current clients and to bring prospective clients into the
fold. I think the most effective ezines are published
weekly -- it gives you one excuse every week to reach out
to your contact database. Blogs tend to be attention hogs,
so they are most effective as a marketing strategy when you
post to them 3-4 times per week. Once you've written the
content for a series of autoresponders, they can serve as a
personal marketing arm for you, as they can be personalized
and give prospective clients the impression that you're
writing a personal email just to them. The more "stay in
touch" strategies you use, the quicker your prospective
client base will get to know you and expect to regularly
hear from you.

Lesson 5: Be willing to give your info away for free.
Some experts will tell you never to give away your
information or expertise ("why buy the cow if the milk is
free" theory). I advocate that you should demonstrate what
you know, as that is key in helping you build online
relationships, and those who are really ready to implement
your strategies will seek you out, as most won't or can't
do it on their own.

Lesson 6: Don't expect overnight success. Despite what the
television ads might state or what the information products
might claim, success in the online world doesn't happen
overnight. There will be a few who will spot a profitable
trend before anyone else does, but eventually the income
will fizzle and they'll have to find another profitable
trend. Just like any other business, an online business
takes a great deal of time and attention. Some of the
tasks can be automated, but you still have to pay attention
to what's happening so that you can effectively create your
marketing and promotion strategy.

By adopting these Internet marketing mindsets into your
daily marketing mantra, you'll be well on your way to
positioning your online business for many years of success!

Building An Email List Of 1 Million Subscribers

Building An Email List Of 1 Million Subscribers

Building An Email List Of 1 Million Subscribers
Back in December 2002, I attended my very first Internet
marketing seminar. That seminar was sponsored by Dr. Bob
Silber, and I attended because Dr. Silber invited me to be
a speaker. Rumors had spread of how well I was doing in
"Internet marketing" with a lead product of "a soul food
cookbook" - of all things.

My presentation was on niche marketing, and was very
well-received. That seminar also opened my eyes to how
willing other marketers are to share their experience and
knowledge with you... if you let them.

At that seminar Jonathan Mizel, Frank Garon, Fred Gleeck,
Armand Morin, Marty Foley, Ramon Williamson, Bob Silber,
and several others gave me so many ideas that I though my
head would explode. Many of the tips that they gave me are
still very applicable today, and add substantially to my
bottom-line. One tip pertaining to having the perfect
backend in place will make me a small fortune this year.

When I first released my cookbook, I struggled with the
perfect backend product for cookbook buyers. Now, I know
that the perfect backend product is… other cookbooks! So,
the backend system for that website that I shared back in
2003 is now an endless procession of incredible cookbooks.
The latest one that I've added to my line-up is a cookbook
by the private cook of the late Alex Haley. This guy is
such a great cook that Alex insisted he do the cooking when
he had such distinguished guest over as Oprah Winfrey,
Sidney Poitier, Governor Lamar Alexander, and countless
other politicians, celebrities, and friends.

That ONE tip, picked up at my first seminar, lead me to
eventually adding Dave Frank's "Foods Of The Southland"
cookbook to my line-up, and I hope to move hundreds of
thousands of copies of that cookbook eventually.

After that first seminar was over, I sat around in the
hotel lobby talking to fellow speaker Ramon Williamson, who
would eventually become a mentor. As Ramon and I talked,
one of the seminar attendees, whom I didn't know, walked up
to us. Ramon recognized this guest and invited both of
us up to his suite for a late-night brainstorming session.

That guest was John Reese, whose marketing genius I would
really grow to appreciate. John Reese, you may remember
really sprang on the scene when his "Traffic Secrets"
course sold over $1 million worth of product in 18 hours.

Ramon, John and I talked until 4am. They did most of the
talking as I sat in awe at their LEVEL of thinking. John
mentioned that one of his long-term goals was to build a
mailing list of over 1 million subscribers. I couldn't see
that as even being possible!

John explained that when you're having trouble paying your
rent, it's difficult to imagine earning $100,000 per year.
However, to the person making $100k, it's easy to "see"
making $200k. To the person making $500k, it's easy to
imagine $1 million. As I reflected upon the truth in what
John was saying I underwent a radical shift in my thinking
right there... that night... in that hotel room.

That was December 2002. By April 2003 I was in the midst of
hosting my very own Internet marketing seminar. That was
four months from attending my very first, to hosting a live
seminar!

I detail a lot of the transformation that occurred in my
thinking and in my habits in my biography, "Git Off The
Porch." I wrote that book in response to a challenge issued
by Ramon. The challenge was to go from idea to a print book
in three months or less.

Today, I sit writing this article... on the beach in
beautiful Navarre, Florida. I often go to the beach and sit
in a shaded pavilion and work. I can do that since all I
really need is my trusty laptop, and my Verizon Wireless
Card. With that card plugged into my laptop, I can actually
surf the internet or answer email from anywhere that I'm
within range of a cell phone tower. I've even done it while
driving down the interstate... my wife was actually
driving. To me, that proves that so many things that many
people consider only "dreams" are possible!

As I write and reflect upon the possibilities, I thought
I'd share with you one of my goals. That goal is the same
one that John Reese shared back in December 2002. I have a
plan for building an email database of over 1 million
subscribers. I'm doing it in phases, and will actually have
several niche lists or sub-lists. When broken down as I
have it mapped out, it's no longer such a major challenge!

My short-term goal is to add 100,000 new subscribers to my
list by December 31st, 2007. Actually that's 100,000 new
subscribers more than I would get from what I was doing
before I implemented my master plan.

Building this relatively large list will involve using a
number of techniques... some very simple, and others
somewhat innovative. One of the simplest ones I've
actually already shared with the world in a special report
that I wrote called, "How I Boosted My Ezine Sign-Up Rate
By 5200 MORE Subscribers Per Month - Virtually Overnight -
And You Can Too!"

The reason that I can, and will, build a list of over 1
million subscribers is largely because I give myself
permission to do so. The transformation in thinking
brought on by the conversation with John and Ramon back in
2002 now allows me to see that anything is possible.
Knowing that it is possible ends the procrastination in
getting started on a task. Knowing what is possible if you
just put in the proper effort also completely cures you of
"excusitis."

You may even wonder if a goal of 1 million subscribers is
worth pursuing. In the niches that I operate in, I earn an
average of between $1 and $3 per month for every subscriber
on my lists. So, for me, YES, it's a very worthwhile goal
:-)

NO - money isn't everything, but it does enable you to
accomplish many bigger goals. My ultimate goals actually
center around helping more people reach their dreams, but
that's a topic for another time. I'll close by issuing a
challenge. Identify one of your goals today, and use your
magnificently powerful brain to figure out HOW to reach it!
It doesn't have to be building a huge list. However, many
of the people that I deal with regularly use the excuse of,
"I have no list" as a reason for not being able to grow
their businesses faster. Many of them have been using that
same excuse for 3-5 years. I contend that it's time that
they stop!

What do you think?

Running A Home business & Working Full Time Outside Your Home

Running A Home business & Working Full Time Outside Your Home
Very few people will claim they are bringing enough money
home to meet all their needs and wants. Several will begin
a home business to supplement their income while remaining
at the full time job outside. This can take a toll on the
personal life as well as the health of just about anyone
running a home business and working full time outside the
home.

One of the first considerations should be is the home
business in conflict with the full time job as many
employers will not tolerate competition from one of their
employees. For example, a person working in a retail
environment in nearly any capacity may find themselves in
conflict with company policies if they begin an online
retail outlet. Or someone working for a carpet cleaning
company starting a home business offering cleaning services
part time as a home business. Being in conflict often
forces the employee to make a choice of keeping their full
time job or finding work elsewhere.

There are many home business opportunities available that
will not conflict with outside work environments, but the
time involved in operating the home business will need to
examined to determine if it can be done effectively while
working full time. The business operator will only have
limited availability as well as time to spend on the
business and the time needed to run the business will have
to be reallocated from another part of the day.

A person with a family will need to know that any time
needed to run the home business will have to come from time
usually used for family functions or just spending time
with the wife and kids. The full time employer will not
tolerate someone spending time on their home business while
being paid so dividing the time between work, running the
business and family may or may not be worth the extra
income from a home business.

In some cases, there are home business opportunities that
require little time and enable it to be run at the
convenience of the owner. With these jobs time can be
arranged in which to run the business without losing time
with family and friends, although sacrificing sleep or
relaxation time may be necessary. Overall, there will be
some sacrifice of time and personal involvement when
running a business and working full time outside the home.

Time management will be essential in creating work-life
balance as well as remaining organized so as not to allow
important aspects of work, home business operation and
family slip through the cracks. A single schedule guiding
the commitments for all obligations will be needed in order
to accomplish everything that needs done and to stay ahead
of the work.
